NDIS Empowerment Programs
Everyone has the right to protect themselves from all forms of violence. ESD coaching is not just another self-defence class, empowerment training goes beyond this in teaching strategies for healthy boundary setting, identifying red flags, and verbal and emotional defence skills. Our NDIS empowerment programs are specifically designed to meet each participant's individual needs, enhancing their freedom of choice and control over their everyday lives.
Training programs are customised to suit each participant's individual needs, based on experiential learning and provisions to empower the participant to focus on their abilities and strengths. Programs give importance to the participant's mental, emotional and physical development as well as encourage confidence to engage with others within the community.
The planning and delivery of programs are based on 20 years of professional and personal experience within the disability sector. Head coach Antonella Spatola (B.A. Psychology) is a professional mediator in conflict resolution, a behavioural therapist teaching ESD and social skills to NDIS participants and an empowerment coach. She is trauma-informed and coaches using personal development theories and positive psychology.
Training packages are ensured to be in alignment with the participant's personal goals and preferences, covering a range of real-life situations such as self-protection with familiars, strangers, at home and within the community. ESD Australia empowers NDIS participants through violence prevention education while simultaneously developing skills that enrich the participant's everyday life.
Our case-by-case, customised programs have been designed as a weekly 60-minute session over the course of 5 weeks. However, additional training sessions can be discussed at the end of the five weeks. Sessions can be delivered in person, as a group or online, depending on the needs of the participant.
Each individual has their own unique plans so a custom program will need to be discussed before training begins.
Feel free to contact us with any enquiries or to register your interest in a program. Professional discretion will always be used when assessing the appropriateness of these programs with the participant.
